Sales, withdrawal and your legal rights
This page is part of the Terms of Service. It explains how you can try a buddy free before you pay, that a sale is final once it is made, when the 14 day right of withdrawal applies and when it ends, and the rights the law gives you if something is wrong. Those legal rights always apply.
In short
- Try first, for free. Making and previewing a buddy costs nothing, and every buddy runs free for its first 2 minutes, so you can check everything before you buy.
- A licence is a one time payment per buddy, at the price shown to you before you pay. There is no subscription.
- All sales are final. We do not give money back because you changed your mind. The exceptions are the cases in which the law gives you a right to it, and they are listed on this page.
- The 14 day right of withdrawal ends when your licence is activated, because at checkout you ask for immediate activation and acknowledge that you lose that right, and we confirm this to you by email. If any of that did not happen, you keep the right.
- If the digital content is faulty, we must put it right. If we cannot, the law entitles you to a price reduction or to your money back. Nothing on this page limits that.
- Charged twice, charged by mistake, or a payment you did not authorise: write to us. Money we are not entitled to keep goes back to you.
- Contact: devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com.
This summary is here to help you. The full text below is what applies.
1. Try before you buy
You never have to pay to find out whether you like YourBuddyfy. Creating an account, making a buddy and previewing it are free.
Each buddy also runs free of charge for its first 2 minutes of running time, in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer and in the Windows app. Only time during which the buddy is actually running counts. Our server keeps the count, so the 2 minutes are one allowance per buddy, shared by all your devices.
During the free time you can try the buddy as it is: the activities and the outfit you picked, the playful interactions, the language you chose and the sounds. A licence removes the running time limit.
When the free time of a buddy is used up, that buddy stops running until it has a licence. Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged. You decide whether to buy.
Please use the free preview and the free minutes to check that the buddy works on your device and that you like it. To run a buddy you need a current web browser and an internet connection, and for the Windows app a computer with Windows 10 or Windows 11. We ask you to check first because a sale is final once it is made, as the next section explains.
2. All sales are final
A licence is digital content. It is the right to run one buddy on your account without a running time limit. You pay once per buddy, at the price shown to you before you pay. That price includes VAT where VAT applies. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
All sales are final. Once your payment is confirmed and the licence is activated, we do not return the price because you changed your mind, because you no longer use the buddy, or because you deleted the buddy or your account. We do not offer voluntary or goodwill refunds.
This rule does not touch the rights the law gives you. You get your money back, in full or in part as the law provides, in these cases:
- you use the 14 day right of withdrawal in a case where it has not ended (section 3);
- the licence was not supplied, or the digital content is not in conformity with the contract and we do not put it right as the law requires (section 4);
- a payment was taken twice, taken by mistake or made without your authorisation (section 5);
- any other case in which mandatory law gives you a right to a refund or to compensation.
We may change the price for future purchases. A price change never affects a purchase that was already made. We do not ask you to pay more for a licence you already have, and a lower price at a later time gives no right to the difference.
3. Your right of withdrawal and when it ends
If you are a consumer, the law normally gives you 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online, without giving a reason. For a licence the 14 days start on the day the contract is concluded, which is the day your payment is confirmed.
A licence is digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, and it starts working immediately after payment. For this kind of content the law says that the right of withdrawal ends once supply has begun, provided that all three of the following have happened (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161 and implemented in Greek Law 2251/1994):
- before paying, you gave your express consent to the licence being activated immediately, during the withdrawal period;
- you acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal;
- we gave you a confirmation of the contract on a durable medium, such as email, that includes this consent and acknowledgement.
This is how a purchase works. Checkout cannot start unless you tick a box. The box is never ticked in advance. By ticking it you ask for immediate activation and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the licence is activated. Our server refuses a purchase without it and records your acceptance with the date and time. After payment we send a confirmation to the email address of your account that repeats your consent and your acknowledgement. From the moment all three conditions are met, the right of withdrawal has ended and the sale is final.
The other side of this rule matters just as much. If any of the three conditions was not met for your purchase, you keep the right to withdraw within 14 days and you receive a full refund. Examples are a licence that was never activated, or a confirmation email that we did not send. If you are not sure whether the conditions were met for your purchase, write to us and we will check our records. The law also extends the 14 days in some cases, for example where a trader did not give the required information about the right of withdrawal.
If you still have the right, send us a clear statement before the period is over. An email to devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com is enough, and it is enough to send it before the period ends. You can use the following model form, but you do not have to:
- To: Siozos Theocharis Panagiotis, trading as DevTaskHub.com, Markou Mpotsari 83, 546 44 Thessaloniki, Greece, devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com
- I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following digital content: YourBuddyfy licence for the buddy named (name).
- Ordered on (date). Order reference, if available: (reference).
- Name of consumer and email address of the account: (name, email).
- Date: (date).
We confirm receipt of your withdrawal by email. If the withdrawal is valid, we refund the full amount you paid without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days from the day we receive your statement. We use the same means of payment you used, and you pay no fee. The licence for that buddy then ends. The buddy, its photos and its settings stay in your account, and the buddy goes back to the free state with any free running time it has left.
4. If something is faulty
Separately from withdrawal, the law gives you a guarantee that digital content is in conformity with the contract (Directive (EU) 2019/770, implemented in Greece by Law 4967/2022). This guarantee applies by law. It cannot be taken away, agreeing to immediate activation does not affect it, and the rule that sales are final does not limit it.
Something is faulty when the licence is not supplied, or when a licensed buddy does not work as described because of a fault on our side. Examples: you paid and the licence did not become active, or a licensed buddy does not start on a device that meets the requirements we stated.
How to tell us: write to devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com, if possible from the email address of your account. Give the name of the buddy, the date of the purchase and the order reference from your confirmation email or your Purchases page, and describe what goes wrong and on which device. If a licence looks inactive, please try Restore licences on the Purchases page first.
What we will do: we confirm that we received your message and we look into it without undue delay. If the content is not in conformity, we bring it into conformity free of charge, without undue delay and without significant inconvenience to you, for example by activating or restoring the licence, with a fix or with an update. We may ask you for information that helps us find the cause, such as your device, your browser or your Windows version, in the least intrusive way.
If bringing the content into conformity is impossible or would be disproportionate, if we do not do it without undue delay, if the fault appears again after we tried to put it right, or if the fault is serious enough to justify it, you are entitled to a proportionate reduction of the price or to end the contract and get the price back, under the conditions set by law. Ending the contract is not available where the fault is only minor, and it is for us to prove that it is minor.
Money that is due to you in these cases is paid without undue delay and, as the law requires, no later than 14 days from the day you tell us that you ask for a price reduction or that you end the contract. We use the same means of payment you used, and you pay no fee.
What happens to the licence: after a price reduction you keep the licence. If the contract is ended and the full price is returned, the licence for that buddy ends. The buddy, its photos and its settings stay in your account, and the buddy goes back to the free state with any free running time it has left. You can buy a licence for it again later.
A problem caused by your own device, system, browser or internet connection is not a fault on our side, where we told you about the requirements before you bought. Optional features that depend on outside providers are extras and are not part of what a licence covers, as the Terms of Service explain.
You may also have a right to compensation under the general rules of the law. Nothing on this page limits it.
5. Payments made by mistake, duplicates and unauthorised payments
Money that we are not entitled to keep goes back to you. Write to us if:
- you were charged more than once for the same buddy;
- you were charged an amount different from the price shown to you before you paid;
- a payment went through for a buddy that had been deleted in the meantime, so that no licence could be supplied;
- you paid and the licence was not activated, and Restore licences on the Purchases page does not fix it. In that case we activate the licence without undue delay. If we do not, you can end the contract and get your money back.
We check our payment records. Where one of these cases is confirmed, we return the amount concerned without undue delay to the means of payment you used, at no cost to you. Your bank may need a few more days to show the money.
If a payment was made without your authorisation, for example with a stolen card, contact your bank or your card issuer immediately. The rules on payment services and the rules of the card schemes give you rights against them, including the reversal of the payment, and time limits apply. Please tell us as well, so that we can secure the account. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
These are corrections of payments that should not have been taken or kept. They are not an exception to the rule that a completed sale is final.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
If something is wrong with a purchase, please write to us first. We can usually sort it out faster than a bank procedure can.
You remain free to dispute a payment with your bank or card issuer, and you should do so without waiting if you did not authorise it. This is what happens to the licence:
- While a dispute or chargeback is open, the licence for that buddy is suspended. The buddy cannot be run, and a new licence cannot be bought for it during that time.
- If the dispute is closed in our favour, the licence is restored as it was.
- If the dispute is closed in your favour, your bank returns the payment to you and the licence for that buddy is revoked. The buddy, its photos and its settings stay in your account, but the buddy cannot be run until a new licence is bought for it.
We answer a dispute with the records of the purchase, including the record of your acceptance at checkout and the confirmation we sent you. A dispute opened in bad faith for a purchase that you made and received may lead to the measures described in the Terms of Service.
None of this limits your right to dispute a payment you did not authorise, or any other right the law gives you.
7. How to contact us
Write to devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com, if possible from the email address of your account. You can write in Greek or in English. You can also write by post to Siozos Theocharis Panagiotis, Markou Mpotsari 83, 546 44 Thessaloniki, Greece. Tell us the name of the buddy, the date of the purchase and the order reference, and what your request is about.
We confirm that we received your message and we answer without undue delay.
If we cannot agree, consumers can turn to the Hellenic Consumer's Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr) for an out of court settlement. Consumers living in another EU country can also ask the European Consumer Centre of their country for help. You can also go to court, as the Terms of Service explain.
Nothing on this page limits the rights that consumer law gives you. This page describes those rights in plain language. It does not replace the law, and where the law gives you more, the law applies.
