Acceptable Use Policy
These are the rules for using YourBuddyfy. They protect the people shown in photos, other people and you.
In short
- Adults only. No photos of anyone under 18, ever.
- Only your own photo, or the photo of an adult who agreed.
- The gags are private jokes for your own screen. Never use them to harass a real person.
- Do not share screenshots or recordings of someone else's buddy to humiliate, defame, threaten or deceive.
- No impersonation, no deepfake style deception, no sexual content, nothing illegal.
- If you break these rules we may remove a buddy, suspend or close your account and revoke a licence.
This summary is here to help you. The full text below is what applies.
1. What this policy is for
YourBuddyfy is private fun: a cartoon buddy on your own screen. This policy sets the limits that keep it that way. It is part of the Terms of Service, and it applies to everything you upload, create and do with the Service, and to anything you do with a buddy outside the Service.
2. Adults only
- You must be 18 or over to use the Service.
- Never upload a photo of a person under 18, even your own child or a photo of yourself as a child.
- Never create a buddy that depicts a minor or is presented as one.
We remove such content and close the account. Where the law requires it, we report to the authorities.
3. Photos and permission
- Upload only photos of yourself, or of an adult who has clearly agreed that you may turn their photo into a buddy and use it with the features of the Service.
- Do not create a buddy of someone who has not agreed. This includes former partners, colleagues, managers, neighbours, public figures and strangers.
- Do not upload a photo that you have no right to use, for example a photo taken from someone's social media profile or a copyrighted image.
- If a person withdraws their permission, delete the buddy and its photos straight away.
- Do not upload photos that show nudity, or that reveal sensitive information about a person, such as their health.
You confirm these points with a declaration before every upload. You are responsible for that declaration being true.
4. Pretend activities and gags are private humour
Buddies can do the pretend things you pick for them: everyday activities, sports, food, rides, parties and hobbies, and also pretend smoking, pretend drinking and pretend gambling. You can also trigger playful slapstick interactions. Which ones are offered depends on who the buddy is to you, for example a wet towel slap for a boss buddy, suction darts, a thrown tomato, a pie, a water balloon, or a love confession from a partner buddy. These are drawn, harmless jokes for your own screen, whether the buddy runs in your browser, in its small floating window or on your desktop.
- Use them only with buddies of people who agreed to this kind of humour.
- Do not use them to harass, bully, intimidate, degrade or take revenge on a real person.
- Do not use them to express or encourage real violence, threats or hatred against a person or a group.
- Do not present a pretend activity as something the real person actually did or does.
5. Keep it private
The Service has no sharing feature on purpose. A buddy is meant to stay on your own screen. That includes the small floating window in the browser.
- Do not publish, post, send or show a screenshot or a recording of a buddy made from another person's photo in order to humiliate, defame, threaten, blackmail or deceive that person or anyone else.
- Do not publish or pass on such a screenshot or recording at all without the clear permission of the person shown.
- Do not use a buddy at work, at school or in a group chat to target a colleague, a classmate or any other person.
6. No impersonation and no deception
- Do not present a buddy, or anything it says or does, as the real person.
- Do not use a buddy to make it look as if a real person said or did something they did not, in the style of a deepfake.
- Do not use the Service to commit fraud, to spread false information about a person, or to damage someone's reputation.
7. No sexual content
The Service does not support sexual content. Do not upload sexually explicit images, do not try to create sexual or sexualised depictions of any person, and do not use text features such as names, memories or chat to sexualise a real person.
8. Lawful use only
- Do not use the Service in any way that breaks the law or the rights of others, including privacy, image, personality, copyright and trade mark rights.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, that promotes hatred or violence, or that threatens anyone.
- Do not use the Service for stalking or for monitoring another person.
- The Service is for personal use. Do not use it commercially or offer it to others as a service.
9. Respect the Service
- Do not try to get around free running time limits, licence checks or request limits.
- Do not create multiple accounts to avoid limits or a suspension.
- Do not probe, attack or overload the Service, and do not try to reach another user's content.
- Do not upload files that contain malware or are disguised as images.
- Do not use automated tools to create accounts or buddies in bulk.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately at devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com and give us reasonable time to fix it.
10. What we do when this policy is broken
We do not look at photos as a matter of routine and we do not monitor accounts in general. We act when we receive a report or otherwise become aware of a problem.
Depending on how serious the matter is, we may ask you to fix it, remove a buddy together with its photos, sign your account out on all devices, suspend your account, revoke a licence, or close the account. For serious cases, such as content involving a minor or harassment of a real person, we may act at once.
To handle a report, an authorised administrator may view the head image of the reported buddy. This is the cut out head that the buddy shows, never the original reference photos. It is viewed solely to deal with the report, and each view is logged together with the reason.
When we remove a buddy we tell you by email. For every measure we tell you what we did and why, unless the law prevents it, and you can reply with a counter notice as described in the Likeness and takedown policy.
A licence that ends because of a serious breach by you is not paid back, unless mandatory law provides otherwise, as set out in the Terms of Service.
You remain responsible, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any harm caused by a breach of this policy, as set out in the Terms of Service.
11. How to report a problem
To report misuse, or to tell us that a buddy uses your likeness without permission, write to devtaskhub@devtaskhub.com. The Likeness and takedown policy explains what to include so that we can act quickly.
